For Seventh-day Adventist churches
Every shilling, in the right column.
Members split their tithe and offerings on their phone, then pay by M-Pesa or in a reusable envelope. Every payment finds its breakdown, and nobody reads anyone’s giving aloud.
| Tithe | 1,500.00 |
| Local church budget | 200.00 |
| Camp meeting | 100.00 |
| Expected | KES 1,800.00 |
Giving by M-Pesa, without the guesswork
The problem
A member sends KES 2,000 to the paybill. Was it tithe? Building fund? Camp meeting? The treasurer chases them on WhatsApp, or guesses.
Breakdown first
They split it here (tithe 1,500, combined 300, roof 200) and get a giving code. Then they pay however they like: a prompt on their phone, the paybill with that code, the till, or Send Money.
Matched by itself
The payment finds its breakdown: by the prompt, by the account number, or by the M-Pesa code they type. The receipt comes by SMS. Only money sent to a number we can’t see waits for the treasurer’s tick.
New appeal? Add it with a goal and an end date; members see how far it has come, and it leaves the form when it ends.
Counting day, with nothing to copy
Each envelope arrives with its breakdown already filled in by the member, so the count is no longer reading and writing. It is checking.
- Scan the envelope, count what is inside, tap Matches. Next envelope.
- No one reads amounts aloud, and no one copies lines into the book.
- The batch totals itself by category as you count: tithe, offerings, the budget, each appeal.
- A different amount is recorded on the spot, with a note, instead of puzzling over it weeks later.
- M-Pesa givings arrive already matched to their breakdown. You only tick the few sent to a number we cannot see.
- Two treasurers can count at the same time, each on their own phone.
| Tithe | 184,500.00 |
| Combined offering | 22,300.00 |
| Local church budget | 31,750.00 |
| New roof | 48,000.00 |
| Camp meeting | 9,600.00 |
| Counted | KES 296,150.00 |
How it works
- 1
Declare
Scan any envelope from the pile, or declare at home first. Choose tithe, offerings, budget, building fund… and the amounts.
- 2
Drop it in
Put the cash or cheque in the envelope and drop it in the offering plate as always.
- 3
Scan and confirm
The treasurer scans it: “Expected KES 1,700: tithe 1,500, budget 200.” Count, confirm, next.
- 4
Into the books
The batch adds itself up by category. Your accounting system gets every giving by API or webhook.
Kinder to creation
Caring for what God made includes the small things, like the paper on the offering table.
A printed envelope is filled in for a few Sabbaths and then thrown away. A church of 150 givers goes through about 1,800 of them a year. FaithFinance envelopes carry no names or amounts, so they go back on the pile after counting and are reused until they wear out. Members who give by M-Pesa need no envelope at all, and every receipt arrives by SMS rather than on paper.
Work out your own church’s saving: the figures update as you type.
- Printed envelopes a year now
- 1,800
- Reusable envelopes needed a year
- 63
- Paper saved every year
- 8.7 kg
That is 1,737 fewer envelopes, about the paper in 3 reams of A4.
Assumes four weekly slots on a printed envelope, giving on 48 Sabbaths, a reusable envelope lasting about two years, and 5 g an envelope.
For treasurers
Counting becomes checking, and the totals by category are ready when the last envelope is done.
How counting worksFor your books
We are a pass-through, not another ledger: a documented API and signed webhooks deliver each giving to the system you already use.

Your giving is between you and God, and now it stays that way. Nobody reads it aloud.
