For treasurers
The members do the writing. At counting you scan, count and confirm, and the totals are ready when the last envelope is done.
Before Sabbath
Your church admin prints a run of envelopes from the console. Each has a QR code and a code underneath, like K7P2-QX9M-3TZA. Put them out on the usual table. They are reused week after week.
At counting
- Open Count in the app (or
/count/<your church>/on the web). Today’s batch opens by itself. - Scan an envelope. You see the giver’s breakdown and the expected total.
- Count what is inside. Tap Matches, or Different and enter what you counted, with a note.
- An envelope nobody filled in? Fill it in right there. Or, if the member declared on their phone before picking an envelope, scan the giving code they show you.
M-Pesa givings
Members who give by M-Pesa split their giving on their phone first, then pay. Paid by the prompt, or to your paybill with their giving code as the account, it is matched to its breakdown and counted by itself, and the member gets their receipt by SMS. You see it in the batch without lifting a finger.
Money sent to a number we cannot see (Send Money, or a till that is not connected) comes with the M-Pesa code the member typed. It waits under M-Pesa in the console until you check it against the church’s messages and tap It came.
After
Close the batch. You get totals by category (tithe, combined offering, local budget…), the counted total against the declared total, and every discrepancy with its note. If your church’s books are connected, they already have it.
Who can do what
A church admin manages categories, envelopes, people, apps and webhooks. A treasurer counts and closes batches. Every action is in the audit log: who verified which envelope, and when.
